An aptitude for music and performing arts was evident early on and Mal was recruited to a prestigious performing arts school in his hometown of Oklahoma City. His knack for articulating earned knowledge and insight through clever wordplay and melodies, over Hip Hop tracks earned him a reputation of being a respected lyricist. Mal has released several mixtapes and EP, and has been featured on numerous projects. Currently, he has made an impact through sync music licensing. Some of his song placements can be heard on HBO Max, Netflix, ESPN, NBA TV, HULU, MTV, and the GOT MILK brand.
Mal has served as a producer for many entertainment outlets including Rolling Out, Dish Nation, and Atlanta’s radio station 107.9. He even added new skills as an executive producer for ‘Sync or Swim’, a short-form documentary, and the feature-length film “Sync or Swim: Diving Deeper” chronicling the musical pursuits of London Elixir, an in-demand music producer.
A true visionary with a heart for his community, Mal consistently uses his platform to motivate and empower young people. He has remained culturally impactful volunteering with young Black men consistently through various school programs and educational initiatives.
Mal’s brand, Making A Change Entertainment (M.A.C. Ent), and his non-profit “More About Caring'', hosts their annual “MAC 2 SCHOOL BBQ and School Drive” as a community initiative for the past 15 years. Mal educated young people on financial literacy and entrepreneurship through the “Dollars and Sense” program. His latest endeavor, “Rap-N-HipHop” is an after-school program that educates students on the history of Hip Hop, and explores the 4 elements of Hip Hop (MC, DJ, Breaking, and Graffiti) with particular emphasis on emceeing aka rap.
With over 20 years of experience, Mogul Mal is an advocate for education and the Arts. His vision connects every project to his ultimate purpose of motivating others to turn their dreams into reality. Whether he is producing tracks, creating curriculum, or performing at an open mic session, his goal is consistently pushing the culture forward.
